Attention All LSAG Presidents:

WHAT & WHEN?

League Leadership Updates, as outlined below, will be taken during the month of June.  If your league had elections in the spring or otherwise had a change since the last updates in February, please send in your information as it relates to the list below.  Information on changes should come from the president of your league or another league leader.

INFO NEEDED?

Please note that you should ONLY send the name, email, & phone number of the following officers:

-President

-Treasurer

-Show Chair(s)

-Publicity Chair

-Database Manager

-LSAG Representatives (2 names & contact information for each OTHER THAN the President of your league)

Also check your meeting day of the week, time, months of meeting, & location for meetings which is underneath the league leadership. 

We invite all members of LSAG to visit the Connect to Local Leagues page on our website to check the information for their league.  Contact your local League President if you feel there is a discrepancy & ask him/her to contact us with changes.

HOW & WHERE TO SEND IT?

Send the above updates in the BODY of an email (no attachments or documents) to  lsagconnect@gmail.com by June 30th, midnight.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

All updates received between June 1-30 will be acknowledged the first week of July & no later than July 7th.  If you sent an update & do not receive an 'update confirmation' by July 7th, please contact us at the same email address.  It is possible we did not receive it.  If you send your email elsewhere it may not be received on time or at all.  

All updates sent during this time will be made by July 14th, midnight.  Please check the website after this date to verify.

LSAG Reminder: Important Spring Meeting on 4/ 14

IMPORTANT 

Spring Open Meeting / Call for New Board Members

The LSAG Spring Meeting will be held one month from now on

Saturday, April 14, 2018, 

at Memorial Church of Christ, 

900 Echo Lane, Houston, TX 77024 

hosted by HAS-Houston Art Society in coordination with their 

spring open judged show.  

Those attending the meeting are welcome to participate along with any LSAG members.

All leagues are encouraged to at least have their LSAG Reps, or other league representatives attend.*****

An agenda for this meeting will be posted in advance of the meeting.

LSAG Reminders: Meetings & Shows Open for All LSAG Affiliates / Where to Find News

-All LSAG affiliate leagues are welcome at any and all fellow LSAG meetings and open judged shows.

LSAG members should not have to pay to attend a demo or meeting.

-Open judged shows are open to LSAG members usually at a slightly higher cost.  Please check the prospectus of each show.

-Looking for a show to participate in?

-In between our monthly newsletter, you can always check the blog posts to be reminded of events.  Search by league, organization, or topic for most items.

LSAG Reminder: Newsletter Deadline For March

This is a reminder that the next newsletter deadline is 

Sunday, March 25th, midnight.  

Please make a note of it and send your posts to the

lsagannouncements@gmail.com  (LSAG announcements)

email address by that date and time.  

Things to Note:

-Make sure your post is for events that are on Wednesday, March 28th or later.  This is when the newsletter goes out.

-LSAG leagues may post up to 5 announcements & one additional LSAG qualifier show announcement.

-LSAG leagues should always post about their open shows to fellow LSAG members.  A schedule of those shows that have been reported are also listed on the LSAG website under Shows.  To be a qualifying show, the league must open their show to fellow LSAG league members.

-Friends of LSAG (any art related business or individual artist with an art related post) may post one announcement.  

-Please combine announcements when needed into an email.

-If you are not familiar with our guidelines, please review them on our website.  Look under the Newsletter heading for pages that include those and future deadlines.  Link to the website from the newsletter email on the upper right-hand side of the page.  Those that are in the wrong format will not be able to be published with the software & there is not always time to inform you & get a replacement post.

-We have members of ALL ages in LSAG--Kindergarteners to Retired.  As such, we have guidelines so that our newsletter is appropriate for all members.  Please adjust your submissions to meet our guidelines or you may find your post has not been included.  Review our guidelines on the LSAG website under Newsletter:  How to Post for more details.

LSAG: Is YOUR Fall Show on the LSAG Calendar?

League Leadership, 

With the summer heat still very present, the fall season may seem far and away right now.  Still it is time to send us your fall show dates as well as your judges so that we may put them on the website calendar.  For best results, send in your show info for the website as soon as possible.  

This is also a reminder of the 2 other avenues of communication you need to consider for any upcoming show-- the newsletter and database.

To be included on the WEBSITE show schedule, send your LEAGUE, DATE, & JUDGE to lsagconnect@gmail.com.

For NEWSLETTER advertisements, send your post as you wish it to appear to lsagannouncements@gmail.com by Saturday noon of the weekend before you want it sent.  The newsletter goes out on a Wednesday morning.  The How to Post page is available on the website for tips.  We may not be able to turn your paragraph into an advertisement; this is the responsibility of the Publicity Chair for your league.  Please adjust your announcement how you wish it to appear before sending to the Newsletter Editor.  Posts that look more like an invitation are more likely to be read than a lengthy paragraph.  Any advertisement for your show should begin about a month in advance of your show registration deadline.     

Your LEAGUE Database Manager is responsible for entering details of your show in the DATABASE.  This information includes DATE, LOCATION, & JUDGE.   

Please use this format:  Your league's letters / Fall or Spring / All shows in the database should be OPEN shows / Show- / Judge's last name 

Example:  ABC Fall Open Show- Jackson    Note--All LSAG shows are art shows, so this is not a needed distinction.

Questions about the database should be directed first to the 2nd VP Shows/ Database, Stephanie, at   lsagvpshows@gmail.com .  As a backup, you may contact the Database Asst. listed on the Leadership page under About Us.

We are currently accepting updates and new submissions for Show Judges and Demo Artists for our LSAG website resource pages now until midnight on Labor Day:  Monday, September 4th.  Upon receipt, you will receive a message letting you know we received it.  If you don't receive such a message, we did not receive it.

LSAG: Fall Open Meeting--Nov 11

The LSAG Fall Open Meeting will be held Saturday, November 11th at the Memorial Church of Christ Family Center, 900 Echo Lane in Houston, convening promptly at 10:45 a.m.  The Memorial Church of Christ is located directly across the street from Memorial High School. The Family Center is located directly behind the Church. Follow signs for the Houston Art Society's art show. Once inside you'll be directed to the room where the meeting will be held. Agenda items include a 2018 Convention update, a database update and the Treasurer's report from the 2017 Convention. This is an "Open" meeting. All league members in good standing with the LSAG are invited to attend. We will also be asking for volunteers (3) to serve on the nominating committee to procure a 2018-2019 board.

LSAG: Open Show Deadline--April 21, 2018

The last date to host an LSAG open show in 2018 will be be Saturday, April 21, 2018. Winnings will need to be recorded by midnight, Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Plans as of now are to open registration for the 2018 Convention on Friday, April 27, 2018.
