Laurie asked me to manage the newsletter for a time while she is with her family. In this newsletter, you will find any backlog of recent posts that as of Sept. 15th were still current and not past events. Due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey, some of which are ongoing, please verify events directly with the organization hosting them to be sure they are still planned. Flooding, wind damage, etc. were widespread and sometimes in pockets that were not well covered on the news.
4 Upcoming Newsletters:
Going forward, I will be able to do a monthly newsletter that will have a Sunday midnight deadline for each of the next few months on the last Sunday of each month (with the exception of an earlier one in December). This is in an effort to keep the communication lines open & flowing which is critical to our large organization. For your convenience, I've outlined them here:
Sept. 24th deadline for posts for the newsletter coming out on the 27th
Oct. 29th deadline for posts for the newsletter coming out on Nov. 1st
Nov. 26th deadline for posts for the newsletter coming out on Nov. 29th
EXCEPTION: December 17th deadline for posts for the newsletter coming out on Dec. 20th
Tips Regarding This Change:
*When you are submitting a post think of events you are having the following month (or other future months) that you want to advertise.
*Please do not send multiples for the same event. Multiples will be discarded.
*It is in your best interest to wait until the week before the deadline to post your event so if you have any updates you can make them PRIOR to your submission.
*If you have a correction, please follow that policy and RE-SUBMIT the post with the correction(s) made AND have CORRECTION (yes, in all caps) in your subject headline by the deadline
...or the corrected one may not be the one published.
*Please be respectful of the limited amount of time I have and have your post publish-ready. Check your work and have it as you wish it to look. You can find tips on this on our website under Newsletter-- How To Post.
"Office Hours"
Please Note: I will not have any "office hours" so to speak during Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years weeks, so if you send correspondence, it will be answered after these holidays. To best serve your needs, visit the Leadership page under About Us on the website and direct your email to the officer or chair with whom it is most associated.
I will check the lsagannouncements@gmail.com email where all posts should be sent once or twice a week, but regrettably, I will not be able to do so daily as I did when I had this post full-time.
Often emails coming to the announcements email are for someone else. Please make it a habit to check the Leadership page under About Us and direct your email accordingly. The announcements email is exclusively for posts to the newsletter and not other LSAG business.
Changes to Your Subscription / Email Address:
We often get requests to change your email address which we are not able to do. If you need to change or update your subscription, please do NOT send an email; instead please visit the Subscribe page under Newsletter for directions. LSAG is not legally able to unsubscribe or change your subscription for you. Making the changes will take you seconds or less than a minute depending on the type of change needed.
2018+ Newsletters
Come January, we will reassess the situation, and hopefully, Laurie can return. If not, another volunteer will be needed.
