LSAG: Member Recognition / Nominations Taken Easter through Mother's Day

Recognition of Members at this year's convention:

Recognition this year at convention will include honoring volunteers and other categories of members with special achievements as listed below.

Final 2 weeks to nominate yourself or someone else.

What you need to know from the outset:
ANY LSAG Member can and should notify us of their OWN service or accomplishments.
ANY LSAG Member can and should notify us of their FELLOW MEMBERS' service or accomplishments.
ANY LSAG League can and should notify us of their members' service or accomplishments

There is NO responsibility on a league to conduct formal nominations or voting.
In fact, we discourage it as it is not in the spirit of what we are trying to do.

You do not need to be present at convention to be recognized.
We will be recognizing volunteers who
-serve their league or LSAG past or present,
-volunteers in their community in some art capacity past or present (teachers, philanthropists, or others),
-those who have received some art related accolade, honor, or achievement the past year or an accumulation of such,
-and those who deserve being recognized for their lifetime achievement in art.
Being recognized is not dependent on participation at convention.
All details are below.

You may nominate yourself; you may nominate a fellow artist.
However please understand if the person has already received the award last year (the first year this recognition was done)
they will not receive the same award again.
A member may receive each award once only.

You may only nominate a given person for ONE award.
Please do NOT nominate the same person for multiple awards.
A given individual will only receive ONE recognition award in a given year.
If you nominate one person for multiple awards, we will pick one.
For example, you may not nominate Sally Stencil for Volunteer to LSAG, Volunteer in the Community, and Art Achievement.
You may nominate her for ONE of these...even if she qualifies for all 3.

You may nominate MORE than one person for the SAME award.
For example, if you wish to nominate both Melanie Medium AND Carl Canvas as Volunteers in the Community, you may do so.

You may nominate various people for different awards.
If you wish to nominate different people for each of the different awards, you may do so as per the guidelines just stated.

Details:

1-Volunteers in a league or with LSAG:  Past and Present
Are you a volunteer this year with your league or another LSAG league and / or have you volunteered in the past?  If you have served your league or LSAG in any capacity for 3 years or more, please let us know.  We'd like to recognize you at convention for your contribution.  Years served do not have to be consecutive years nor do they have to be served in the same position or with the same league for all 3 years.

2-Volunteers in the Community:  Past and Present
Have you served the community with art?  Do you share art by teaching in a volunteer capacity or doing outreach to / for others?  Please share with us what you do or that of a fellow inspiring artist.  We want to recognize those who have done art related community service presently or in the past for 3 years or more.  Again, service does not have to be consecutive years nor do they have to be served in the same position or for the same organization for all 3 years.

3-Art Achievement:
Do you have art related achievements OUTSIDE of LSAG that will inspire others in our guild?  The exciting art elements of your life or the life of a fellow artist you nominate can inspire all of us.  Please share with us.  Did you or they get signature status in another art organization, appeared in juried exhibits, earned a special recognition for your / their art?
Tell us why you or a fellow artist deserves to be recognized for art achievement.
Please do NOT send LSAG related achievements for this award.  This is specifically for achievements OUTSIDE of LSAG.

4- Lifetime Art Achievement:
This special recognition is for those who have been longtime members of LSAG for 10 years or more
(does not have to be in the same league nor consecutive).
As the name states, it is for artists who have over the course of the 10 yrs. or more OR in their lifetime
created a body of artwork in any of the LSAG recognized categories or a combination of categories.
A person must be a current LSAG member artist.  It can also be awarded posthumously to a recently deceased member by presenting it to a family member or designee in their honor.
Please note:  Years are counted as 12 month periods and not multiplied based on your various mediums.
So if Wendell Wash has been a member of WAL for 10 years and has built up a body of work in watercolors and pastels over his lifetime, then he qualifies.
If Ginger Gesso has been a member for 5 years and built up a body of work in watercolors and pastels, we do NOT multiply her 2 mediums X 5 years to come up with the number 10.  She does NOT qualify as she has not been a member for 10 yrs.

What We Need:
--Name (first and last) of yourself if nominating yourself OR the fellow member you are nominating as well as your name
--Home league of yourself OR the fellow member as well as yourself
(Home leagues do NOT have to be the same.  You can nominate across leagues.)

--How you / they have contributed for said award
