I have always been fascinated by the outdoors. Ever since I was young, my family nurtured my love for nature. When I entered the University of WI River Falls in 1997, I was pursuing a degree in horticulture with a minor in liberal arts. During my sophomore year, I found myself in an introductory course for glass. To my surprise, I had a natural talent for working with the material. My pieces logically leaned toward the natural world, heavily influenced by my surrounding environments. I enjoy connecting indoor spaces with the outdoors by creating pieces inspired by desert sunrises, waterscapes, and beautiful plants. Read more here.

A New Year, A New ARTFEEL Join us at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30 at Crush Wine Lounge for ARTFEEL, part of our public art programming. In spotlight this quarter is "Resolute" by Paul Reimer, an art bench located in Hughes Landing that was generously sponsored by the Dorman Family in memory of Matt Dorman.
ARTFEEL hostess Nickole Kerner Bobley will offer up a microphone and stage and ask people to share how "Resolute" makes them feel. This may take the form of a story, music, sharing of artwork, poetry, a song, dance or simply a single word describing how the bench makes them feel. There are no rules – and that's the fun! Celebrate the power of public art with a salute to "Resolute". ARTFEEL is free and open to the public. Crush offers half-price appetizers and validated parking. We hope to see you there.

A Crawl to Remember
The Council's Art Bench Project has now brought 20 spectacular Art Benches to The Woodlands community since its inception. Many who attended the Art Crawl and Craft Beer Fest that was held at Hughes Landing on November 3 took time to relax on some of the creative and beautiful benches there. Many thanks to the Howard Hughes Corporation for featuring outdoor sculptures and artist booths at this inaugural event and for naming The Woodlands Arts Council as the beneficiary.
