ALFB is presenting Susan Giannantonio

Susan Giannantonio
BOTANICAL WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
March 2-3, 2019
Fort Bend Art Center classroom (832-945-2882)
2012 Avenue G, Rosenberg, Texas 77471
Cost for ALFB members is $210, Non-members $220

This workshop uses actual plant material to create pattern and texture in watercolor.  With unique application of paint and process that dries overnight, you'll discover ways to enhance your garden and floral paintings by letting the plants do much of the painting for you.  The most exciting part is to reveal on day 2, the magic that the plants have created while you slept.
Supply List: Leaves: Freshly cut leaves(*even weeds!) with printable veins, flattened in a hardback book (phone book doesn't have enough weight).  You may want to weigh down the book overnight.  For best results, keep the plants flat in the book until the moment you use them in class.  Ferns and grasses, trees and bushes with prominent veining on their back side work beautifully.  Also, interesting leaf shapes are lovely even without veining.
Masking fluid or painter's tape
Watercolor pencils (optional)
A pad of watercolor paper.  We will do multiple paintings.
Spray bottle or mist bottle of water
Bottle of diluted dish detergent or shampoo, shallow plastic container for detergent
White gouache (optional)
Paint cloths, rags or paper towels (I use terrycloth)]
