ALB: Day of the Dead Exhibit and Reception

Art Exhibition and Reception

Art and Altars from Area School Students and Art League of Baytown members will be on display October 23 - November 10, with a reception November 3, 7-9pm.
The public is invited and are encouraged to come dressed in Day of the Dead make up and costume.
The reception will feature, an altar making demo, presentation on the cultural heritage of this celebration, music, food and more.

Now celebrated in countries around the world, Dia de los Muertos, or "Day of the Dead", is a two-day holiday which originated in Mexico to remember deceased loved ones. It's a Mexican national holiday and the country's largest celebration of the year. Dia de los Muertos extends well beyond Mexico to Guatemala, Brazil, Spain and Mexican-American communities in the United States.
