Figure Drawing
- A Classical Approach -
August 30th – November 15th, Thursdays 9am – NOON

Textbook to be used with this class.
Learn to draw the figure following the classical approach outlined in Jon deMartin’s excellent book on the subject, “Drawing Atelier, the figure”.  Class time will include review of key concepts from the book such as shading techniques, modeling the form, principles of foreshortening, linear proportions, and approaching the short pose. We will draw in black and white charcoal pencils on toned papers. The last two classes will involve drawing from a live model in a swim suit. Students will leave this course with a much better understanding of the spatial relationships of the various parts of the human body.

Cost: $475 (twelve, 3-hour classes) plus model fee (~ $5 per session).
Please Note: There are no refunds for missed classes.
