LSAG: Community Events to Connect

LSAG wants to help foster connections
...between artists
and
...between artists & inspiring events in our community.

With that in mind, we've chosen two inspiring events to share with you in 2015.
These events were chosen because they are quality events worth the time to visit.
We encourage you to get with a friend or coordinate a group in your league & go out & be inspired.
Touch base & coordinate meeting up with a fellow LSAG league across town for a memorable time & networking opportunities.

We'll also share an opportunity in the spring & summer.

If you have a story or pictures to share (jpegs only please) about meeting up with LSAG artists at one of these events or another inspiring story about how you or your group is connecting to the community or other artists, please share at

Why we chose this event:  The art of quilting spans both tradition & contemporary themes.  While this may include your grandma's kind of quilts, there will be some that are not.  Come expand your idea of this craft & walk away with greater appreciation.  Color combinations to intricate patterns...you will be inspired to incorporate these types of designs in your own medium.

Winter:
Sunday, December 20:  Festive Traditions
Where:  Bayou Bend Home & Gardens in Houston
Event begins at 1 PM
Cost:  FREE
Parking:  in the lot adjacent to the BB visitor center & near the bridge you cross to gain access to the grounds (in the past, this was free)
Kid activities included.
The home will be decorated for the holidays.  You are welcome to take pictures outside, but not with a tripod.

Why we chose this event:  If you haven't been to Bayou Bend, you are missing one of the jewels of Houston.  Nestled in our city is this gem of a place that will have you step back in time to a completely removed place.  City sleek fades to southern antiquity.  The home will be decorated for the holidays, music is often being performed, & children's activities are included...all for free.  Come & kick off the holiday season in style.  We think you'll be inspired how traditions & the spirit of the season might influence your art.
