August 2018 Meet Sally Richard, Artist Management Coordinator The Woodlands Arts Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Sally Richard as Artist Management Coordinator for the 2019 Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival. In this capacity, Sally serves as the main point of contact for the artists. She oversees everything from the artist application process to working with the artists to facilitate a smooth festival experience. A diverse array of artists, the core of what makes our festival such a success, are juried into our festival and apply through Zapplications. The deadline to apply is October 20, 2018 at midnight CST. Join the Flock Become a Friend of the Council while supporting our year-round community and education outreach programs. You play an important role as a patron of the arts. Membership includes invitations to special events, admission tickets, exhibit openings, monthly newsletters and/or Friends of the Council gift package. All or a portion of your membership is tax-deductible and helps fulfill our mission to provide regional cultural and enrichment opportunities that encourage, support and promote the performing and visual arts. Another way to become a Friend of the Council is to serve as a volunteer of The Woodlands Arts Council or The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival. Art Bench Sneak Peek The Woodlands Arts Council (TWAC) is proud to present a 'sneak peek' of two of the magnificent designs that have been selected by the Art Bench Committee to be installed in the third phase of the project. Six new benches will be installed by The Woodlands Township along The Woodlands Waterway and in Hughes Landing in this phase, bringing the total to 20 art benches for residents and visitors to use and enjoy as part of the growing public art collection in The Woodlands. An unveiling ceremony for the six new benches will take place in October. The new benches will also be featured in TWAC's ArtFeel interactive presentations at Crush Wine Lounge.
