Oil painter, Chen Lian will presenta demo at our January 23rd meeting. Internationally renowned for his expressive portraits, this award-winning artist has been featured in numerous publications, and in many galleries in the US and abroad.
The meeting will be held at the South County Community Center, with a 6:30 PM meet and greet followed by the demo at 7 PM.
Wednesday Open Studio moving next door!
The new board has decided to close the studio and search for a new space. We will miss our large, messy, playspace terribly, HOWEVER , Lauren Combs and Sara Saravo will still be holding our drop in Wednesday afternoons in Studio One...also in the Studio in the Woods complex. As this is a private studio, it will be open to all; WAL membership will not be required! Please keep checking the website for updates. PICK UP ART
WAL will be packing and getting ready to put supplies and property into storage. If you have art, supplies, or personal belongings please make arrangements to pick them up in the next couple weeks. ART FEEL
WAL will feature several artists at the January 29th Art Feel at Market St. Each of the featured artists will present work reflecting their feelings about the sculpture "Firefly" or its theme. Artfeel is a public program sponsored by the Woodlands Arts Council for the community and local artists. The Spring Branch Nature Center will host an exhibit of WAL artists with a nature theme, with an artists' reception January 31st from 5-9 pm. The works will be on display at the center through Feb. 8th.
