Vermont Studio Center Welcomes
Kelly Frost as External Engagement Director
JOHNSON, Vermont (November 5, 2019)—Vermont Studio Center has announced the appointment of Kelly Frost as External Engagement Director of the international artist-and-writer residency program, now in its 35th year.
Frost brings almost three decades of experience in development, communications, and external engagement, serving as chief advancement officer and executive counsel to dozens of arts, community, educational, conservation, and mission-driven organizations. Her strengths include comprehensive communications and development program management, capital and principal gift fundraising, community engagement, and strategic planning for nonprofit organizations in Vermont, New York, and throughout Northern New England.
As VSC's External Engagement Director, Frost will be a member of the leadership team charged with fostering a culture of shared ownership and generosity to support the immediate and long-range needs of Vermont Studio Center's internationally recognized residency program. She will support the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees in their work to advance VSC.
"Organizations have value because of the people they serve and the people who invest their time and resources in service to others," Frost said. "Vermont Studio Center has shared the inspirational beauty and welcoming community of Johnson with more than 18,000 resident artists and writers from around the world since 1984. I look forward to partnering with our alumnx, donors, and patrons of the arts from near and far to nurture and expand our network of support."

In 2013, she launched Frost Advancement Advisors, providing comprehensive counsel to local and statewide organizations in Maine including Outdoor Sport Institute, 7 Lakes Alliance, Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries, and Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine. She is a board member and treasurer of Community House, a short-term residential treatment program and day-school serving children in Brattleboro, VT.
"Kelly's approach is collaborative and imaginative, enriched by her deep knowledge of development strategies," said Ellen McCulloch-Lovell, VSC's Interim Executive Director.
