Because Ross was an artist, we work to actively support the arts in North Louisiana. The Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation is proud to announce the North Louisiana Artist-in-Residence. This new artist residency will allow artists from across the United States to take time to develop their craft, engage with the art communities of North Louisiana, and experience where Ross grew up.
Our first iteration of the North Louisiana Artist-in-Residence will take place over two weeks between September 15th and October 10th in 2019. The theme is Rural Communities Along the Red River and the medium of art is photography. The Foundation invites a photographer to spend two weeks on Lynn Farms outside Gilliam, LA. Staying in a vintage Airstream, the photographer will have the opportunity to explore the culture and people of the rural communities along the Red River in North Caddo Parish.
To maximize the opportunity for engagement, we have timed the AiR with two other events happening on the 27th and 28th of September. On Sept. 27th and 28th, RLCF will host our first Legacy Show, a curated exhibit featuring Ross's photography that will be open to the public and held at Lynn Farms. Additionally, on Sept. 28th, the Red River Crossroads Historical and Cultural Association is hosting the Heritage & Harvest Tour, a day when historic homes and farms in North Caddo Parish are open for tours to the general public.
The deadline for applying for this year's AiR is August 1st.
