2018 national juried pastel exhibition now open
Pastel Society of Southeast Texas presents Art of the Pastel 2018
through Sunday, May 27 at art center in Clute
The Art of the Pastel 2018, presented by the Pastel Society of Southeast Texas (PSST), opened to the public Tuesday, April 24 at The Gallery at The Brazosport Center for the Arts & Sciences in Clute. An artists' reception and awards presentation, including $2,000 in cash prizes, is scheduled for Saturday, April 28 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. More than 80 pastel paintings will be featured in the exhibition and all will be for sale.
The Art of the Pastel is PSST's annual, open-call, juried exhibition spotlighting the work of pastel artists throughout the United States. Entry was open to PSST members and non-members. Noted pastel artists Diane Rappisi, PSA, and Clark Mitchell, PSA, served as jurors and Jeanne Rosier Smith, PSA, was the judge of awards.
Paintings accepted into Art of the Pastel 2018 will be on display through Sunday, May 27 at The Center for the Arts & Sciences, 400 College Boulevard, Clute 77531.
