Did you know that as a patron of the 2018 Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, you are making a difference in the lives of others?
While you are enjoying the over 200 visual artists who have been juried into our show from around the country, plus performance art on four stages, chefs demonstrating the culinary arts and local arts organizations providing a variety of art experiences for all ages, you are also making it possible for many others to experience the arts.
Festival proceeds enable us to impact artists of the future. Each year, The Woodlands Arts Council gives over $20,000 in scholarships to student artists who submit their work to a juried art competition. The works of our student scholarship recipients are proudly displayed each year at the Festival for all to enjoy the work of our talented youth.
Festival proceeds allow us to bring visual and performing arts opportunities to approximately 6,500 students in seven Title-1 schools in Montgomery County who would not otherwise have the resources to experience the arts. You are helping us make this difference.
As our organization and Festival has grown, so has our reach. Festival revenues enable us to work with "super adults" to create meaningful art experiences for senior citizens and we, in turn, learn so much from their life experiences. We are also able to bring unique and creative programs such as "Drumming Makes A Difference" to those who have special needs and circumstances. The visible impact these programs make is tremendous.
None of this would be possible without the support of those attending our annual Festival. The Woodlands Arts Council is proud of our accomplishments and will continue to work hard to fulfill our mission and make a difference in the lives of others… Because Art Matters.
So we offer our thanks and gratitude for attending one of the top ranked festivals of its kind in the country. We hope you'll join us this year, and invite family and friends!
Warmly,
The Woodlands Arts Council
