G. Lee Gallery: Tall Ship Plein Air Workshop

Tall Ship Plein Air Workshop – G. Lee Art Gallery

Tall sailing ships will be gathering at Galveston Island for a transit across the Gulf of Mexico. This is a once in a life time opportunity to paint these beautiful tall sailing ships plein air. Courtesy of the Galveston Historical Foundation, we have been granted permission to bring plein air painters to the pier where six tall ships - including Galveston's own "Elissa" and General Patton's World War II "When and If" schooner - will be docked.

One day or two, April 7 and 8, workshop leader Randall Cogburn will give you his undivided attention. The workshop includes: a daily demo by Randall, one on one assistance, and a daily afternoon group critique. See, think and learn the techniques and useful hints for painting outdoors.

Open to all mediums. Beginners to advanced welcome. Bring your own materials. The workshop fee also includes: daily entrance ticket(s) to the ships, and transfer from G. Lee Gallery to venue location.  Attendees may sign up for one day or two. Cost $110 for one day; $160 for two days..

Don't miss this unique opportunity to paint these historic tall sailing ships plein air. Rain or shine, plein air painters paint on.
