Houston, Texas (January 22, 2018) … Archway Gallery presents Féminitude, A Path Towards Femininity..., featuring photographs by Isabelle Perreau. The exhibition is part of the city-wide 'Participating Spaces' celebrating the FotoFest 2018 Biennial and will be on view March 3 – April 5, 2018.  Now in its 20th year, FotoFest is the United States' largest and longest-running international photography festival.

The artist will be on hand to visit with guests during the exhibition opening reception on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the gallery with an Artist Talk
at 6:30 p.m.

Essential to the artist's creative approach is the mutual degree of trust established with the subjects she photographs. Accepting and welcoming the artist into life's intimate moments is key in capturing that ephemeral "Féminitude" conveyed by the photographs.

Isabelle Perreau was born in France, in the Loire Valley. She studied philosophy at the University of Paris X then followed her natural curiosity and passion for travel by flying off to South America where she lived for 20 years establishing a career as a psychoanalyst.

Perreau's continued travels eventually led her to Texas and this is where  photography became her chosen mode of expression. The artist's camera has become her companion on innumerable journeys across the planet.  In 2016 she had her first solo exhibition at the Alliance Francaise de Houston, and she became a resident artist at Archway Gallery.
